Nutritious and morish, these little balls of energy are perfect for all ages.I like to make these as tiny bites but you could make them as large as you want.
Put the Peanut Butter and Honey into a bowl and mircrowave for up to 20 seconds to loosen it up. Set asise to cool down
Put the oats in a blender until it becomes a fine powder
Roughly chop up the raisins
Take all the ingredients, except the warm water, and put them in a medium sized bowl
Mix all the ingredients together with a spatula in a medium sized bowl until it starts to form clumps
Once the mixture becomes clumpy, switch to using your hands and squish the mixture until it becomes really doughy
Break off pieces from the dough and roll into little balls. I make them quite small (like a malteaser chocolate) but you can make bigger ones if you prefer
These can be eaten straight away or you can put them in the fridge for a while to set them a little
Optional:
Depending on the Peanut Butter you use, you may find the mixture too dry and it breaks apart when you're trying to roll the little balls. If this happens, add 2 tsp of warm water to the mixture and squish well with your hands. This should make everything hold better
Notes
If you use Peanut Butter containing sugar, leave out the honey from the recipe or reduce it. Since there's no baking involved, you can taste it as you form the dough.Storage: These can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.Freeze: These can be frozen straight away and will defrost in 15 mins or so. Consume within 3 months.Tailor this Snack:Even Smoother Texture - Blend the oats to a fine powderMore Texture - Only blend a little to leave some large oat piecesProtein - I use Chia Seeds for a protein boost but you can also use ground Flax Seeds or Soy powderNut Butters - I use Peanut Butter but you can use any nut butter
